30A – Final Reflection

1) Read through your posts from this semester. Recall all of the experiences you've had a long the way -- the highs, the lows -- the fun moments, and the moments of drudgery, and even the moments of dread.

After reading through all of my posts from this semester, I feel as if I have come a long way in this class. From the beginning, I felt myself struggling a bit to come up with thirty things that I struggled with. I feel as if I have grown from this class and can easily complete assignments with a more creative mind set.

2) What sticks out to you as the most formative experience? The experience that you'll remember years later? What was your most joyous experience? What experience are you most proud of yourself for accomplishing?
I think what sticks out to me most is the grading system. I think it is very fair and the only class that really encourages creativity with their system. My most joyous experience is seeing that final assignment and knowing the class is almost complete. I am most proud of my idea and being able to take something so simple and turn it into something bigger.
3) At the beginning of the semester, I mentioned that I wanted each of you to develop an entrepreneurial mindset. Now, at the end, do you see yourself as an entrepreneur? Do you think you have moved closer to developing an entrepreneurial mindset?
I absolutely do. I think I have developed into a creative entrepreneur and I am forever grateful for it. I have moved in the right direction.
4) What is the one recommendation you would make to the students who are going to journey down this path in the future? What would you recommend they do to perform best in this course? What would you recommend they do to foster that mindset?
I would recommend to a student who is going down this path in the future to stick to turning everything in even if it seems hard. I missed a few assignments and it greatly effected my grade. Just do everything that you are supposed to. Remember that every assignment has it's purpose.
Once you have written your post, please include a picture (for illustration!).

29A-Venture Concept No. 2

OPPORTUNITY

The opportunity that I have pursued throughout this semester is increasing study space at the most populated UF library, Library West. Too many students that attend this university find themselves competing for seating in the same area. Those who attend UF will definitely find a benefit to the removal of unused technology. Although the students greatly need extra seating at Library West, it is up to the administration to put this plan into action. Currently, this need is very select at UF. Hopefully, if removing technology is successful in the increase of seating for students, this idea can expand beyond the university. The force is the excess of students and lack of study space. The window is meant to last as long as the library still exists on this campus.

INNOVATION

My tactic of innovation is removing something that is rarely used to solve a problem. By removing the technology that students no longer find a use for, and donating it to those in need, I am creating a win-win situation for those who currently attend UF and those who do not have access to technology. The only cost of the opportunity is the removal of the technology and the purchase of more seating.

VENTURE CONCEPT

My innovation will solve the lack of seating for those who study at Library West. This will create more of a traffic flow through Library West. There will be more seating available to all students. I am going to remove bulky unused items from Library West and create more space for seating. The University of Florida will greatly benefit from this.

Three Minor Elements

Secret Sauce- I believe that my secret sauce is my personal experience. There is absolutely nothing like being able to communicate about something that you are one hundred percent aware of and being able to be passionate about why something is wrong.

What is next? What is next is after seeing how necessary library west is, I feel that all students need study space and that after this semester, this opportunity is easily attainable but also very much needed. I think that a petition is necessary to communicate to the University and it's administration how important close study space is to those attending the University.

What is next for me? I have decided that within the next ten years, all of Library West will be technology free, excluding the fourth floor. I am going to sit back and wait with patience for the success of this opportunity/idea. This will create more study space for those who need distraction free studying and encourage students to not be on their phones but rather in the books. Some may see this as going backwards but I see this as forward and up for all the right reasons!

28A – Your Exit Strategy Submit Assignment

My exit strategy is going to be incorporating it into the Libraries at the University of Florida and then evaluating whether or not I should expand this idea to other schools. UF can be my guinea pig to decide whether or not the idea can be successful. This can happen within the next five years and then I can determine if adding more space to populated study areas is worth it.

I selected this strategy because if it is successful at UF, it will thrive elsewhere, but if not, the whole idea cannot flourish. My idea is not insanely creative it is more beneficial to a specific audience so I would not keep it in the family. I need to sit back and watch.

I do think that it has influenced other things though, because it is not a brand or a new creative "WOW" idea that everyone will be shocked by. It is a simple idea to prevent clutter and create more seating that will help those at The University of Florida especially those who often go to Library West to study on campus.

27A – Reading Reflection No. 3

Cognitive Surplus Clay Shirky
1) What was the general theme or argument of the book?
The general theme of this book is about how the use of technology is lacking us but also a surplus for us.
2) How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003?
This book in my opinion, connects with what I am leaning in ENT 3003 because as youg entrepreneurs we are using technology to benefit us in our successes. He discusses how much time we are losing sitting around watching television, but also the amount that we he learned from having the whole world at our finger tips ie. the internet.
3) If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise involve?
I would create an exercise where all students have to calculate the amount of time that they spend on their computers, phones, smart watches, iPads, and all types of technology and calculate how much more they could accomplish if it were not for these things.
4) What was your biggest surprise or 'aha' moment when reading the book? In other words, what did you learn that differed most from your expectations
I think my biggest surprise or 'aha' moment when reading "Cognitive Surplus Clay Shirky" was how much time I am wasting in my life online and watching television. I do not even realize myself how mindless these thing that I am doing are. I did not think that this book was going to be able to effect me on a personal level. It really got into my mind.

26A – Celebrating Failure

1) Everyone fails at something one time or another. My time was this semester. I did not do so well in one of my classes. It was a class that I already struggled with and taking it fully online did not help my lack of knowledge on the subject. I tried my best, but sometimes you cannot control everything that is thrown at you. I did not do as well as I would have liked to on one exam and unfortunately, I am going to have to retake the class.

2) I definitely learned that it is OKAY to not be great at everything. I learned that it takes a lot of motivation and perseverance. I learned to not get too down because nobody has control of everything. Life goes on and one grade does not determine who you are.

3) No one likes failure. Unfortunately though, everyone fails. I do not enjoy failing. Honestly, sometimes it really gets me down. I believe that to be able to cope with failure you have to be positive/optimistic about every situation. I definitely was not as confident in failing prior to this class. I have missed a few assignments, but I still have confidence that I will be okay in this class and succeed. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. But as long as we are optimistic and do our best we will all make it through!

25A – What’s Next?

There is no radically different market the I am competing with. This is something that makes this opportunity very different than most opportunities at the University of Florida. If I were to target a poor part of society they would be benefiting from receiving old, no longer used technology. Everyone benefits.

My venture concept has made this opportunity one hundred percent beneficial to everyone involved. No one misses out and everyone is bettered from it.

Student with Personal Experience- Sarah H.
Sarah is a third year student at the University of Florida. She goes to the library almost everyday and is on campus constantly. She believes that the University of Florida is needs more study spaces. She expresses that there have been many times she walked through library west but could not find anywhere to sit so she left and did not finish studying. She agrees with the implementation of this opportunity.

Student #2 with personal experience- Helena W.
Helena is a third year PR student at the University of Florida. She. studies often but only from the comfort of her room because she feels that competing for seating on campus is not worth losing studying time. She also thinks that this opportunity is necessary.

I honestly was not surprised at all from this. I think that everyone who attends the University of Florida needs to study. I have found that so many of my friends spend more time in libraries than in their apartments. We as a university, are very competitive and successful for a reason.
I would have to say what I was most surprised about, is some people know that the campus is so crowded, that they feel like going on campus is not even worth the loss of study time anymore. We should not become a university where students do not feel comfortable walking on campus. It seems that we are moving in a very different direction from our students.

Assignment 24A -Venture Concept No. 1

Opportunity
The opportunity that I have selected for this write up assignment is: The removal of all of the old used technology that is currently taking the place of potential seating at Library West by University of Florida students. Having a lack of seating for studying purposes for such an academically competitive public university is detrimental to the success of not only the students but the upward climb of the school's reputation. This is because if a student is not given proper locations to study and find themselves wandering around popular libraries, like library west, then they will not be able to concentrate and may possibly decide that they no longer need or have the ability to study. This is a very simple idea, that although seems like it could be done in an hour of a day, is not acceptable in everyones eyes. Those who play devils advocate at the University of Florida along with a good amount of those on the administration do not believe that ridding the most populated library on the University of Florida's campus, Library West, will greatly benefit those who have the intention of studying. They also believe that getting rid of old technology is like getting rid of valuable resources that the school has provided for the success of it's students. This exact window of opportunity is available up until Library West and all other University of Florida libraries close. Although this is the case, this is an opportunity that I feel needs to be handled sooner rather than later. As a student who frequently visits library west, I can tell you from personal experience, how awful it is to attempt to visit the library and study for a big exam or even just try to finish some last minute homework, and then when you cannot find a place to sit, find yourself leaving and not completing your studying or your assignment. There are over fifty five thousand students who attend the University of Florida. Because of this, it is almost impossible for everyone to have room to study. It is also discussed that too many people are relocating their studies to Library West because it is the "cool" place to go. Everyone goes to the third floor of Library West to be seen that they are studying. Doing homework and studying has become a social outlet for those who attend the University of Florida. Although I agree with this, you can not control that students at the University of Florida want to be social, but you can control how much seating there is for students at the "facey" library.

Innovation
My innovation tactic in this opportunity is to remove something that is not being used at the University of Florida's Library West,  and installing new seating and creating a new use for the space. The old technology will not be put to waste. It will be donated to those who cannot afford computers. This is ideal because most students already have a personal and mobile computer when entering college because Apple supplies a college student discount. For those who cannot afford it, they will get a kind donation from the University of Florida. The University of Florida will then get a tax write up and everyone will benefit from this. This is why this opportunity is innovative as well. Out with the old, in with the new. But, one if silver, and the other is gold. That is my innovation tactic on the opportunity to remove old technology for the University of Florida's largely populated library,  Library West, will not only create a vast amount of brand new seating to those attempting to achieve their greatest potential at the University of Florida, but also benefit those in need while still saving money for their well ranked and honorable University.

Venture Concept
My venture concept is to remove bulky and unwanted technology from the University of Florida's Library West. This will save space, help those in need, and benefit all of those who are involved.  There are no competitors in this concept and that is why this is an opportunity that needs to be pursued. This is something that can greatly benefit the University of Florida and there are no negative repercussions.

Three Minor Elements

Secret Sauce- I believe that my secret sauce is my personal experience. There is absolutely nothing like being able to communicate about something that you are one hundred percent aware of and being able to be passionate about why something is wrong.

What is next?
What is next is after seeing how necessary library west is, I feel that all students need study space. I think that a petition is necessary to communicate to the University and it's administration how important close study space is to those attending the University.

What is next for me?
I have decided that within the next ten years, all of Library West will be technology free, excluding the fourth floor. This will create more study space for those who need distraction free studying and encourage students to not be on their phones but rather in the books. Some may see this as going backwards but I see this as forward and up!

Assignment 23A - Your Venture's Unfair Advantage

1) Student Support
2) Communication Skills
3) Presentation Skills
4) Support from school
5) No reason to not change
6) Personal Experience
7) Student Connections
8) Simple ideas
9) Plenty of time
10) Student Feedback

I would have to say that my top resource at this very moment would have to be personal experience. There is not anyone that is as passionate about something as someone who has physically been through it themselves. I think that because of this, I will be very successful while pursuing this opportunity to increase study space at the University of Florida's Library West.

21A – Reading Reflection No. 2

Steve Jobs

1) What was the general theme or argument of the book?
The general theme of the book Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson is about Steve Jobs and his interviews throughout two years. It discusses the ups and downs of his life and how he created the brand Apple to begin with.
2) How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003?
I felt that this book was connected to what I have learned in ENT3003 because it discusses the life of Steve Jobs, a very very successful entrepreneur. Steve Jobs used different tactics to create his business success. He was beyond creative and made something that was just an idea an amazing reality.
3) If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise involve?
If I had to design an exercise for this class based off of what I have read in the book Steve Jobs, I would encourage students to be creative. I believe that when you are creative you have the greatest possibility to create your ideas and make them a real reality.
4) What was your biggest surprise or 'aha' moment when reading the book? In other words, what did you learn that differed most from your expectations?
My biggest surprise or aha moment when reading the book was that Steve Jobs was a perfectionist. I think that usually, you are not as successful because you having high expectation.

20A-Growing Your Social Capital

1.     Domain Expert
a.     The first person I talked to was David McKibbin. He is a tech lawyer.
b.     David turned his entire law firm into a tech company.
c.     I called him.
d.     I interviewed him over the phone to find out more about going tech.
e.     It is a very beneficial relationship and betters

 2.     Market Expert
a.     Evangeline Edwards.
b.     Evangeline is a paper-free technology librarian.
c.     I also made a phone call.
d.     She allowed me to interview her in her busy schedule.
e.     I think that this relationship is very beneficial because it proves that it is possible to have an entire technology library.

3.     Important Supplier
a.     Michael Rosholt is an Apple employee.
b.     Michael does not work in a library but he works for a distributer.
c.     Michael is a very good family friend and knows statistics about college purchases each year.
e.     This also is a very beneficial relationship due to the fact that Apple is one of the biggest suppliers of portable computers and knowing the facts about college student purchases will benefit my opportunity greatly.

This experienced talking to different expert taught me how important it is to know people and network. Even if it is just referring to facts and statistics there is a lot that I would not know about if it were not for my connections. You can never know too many people and that is beyond important to remember in any situation.

19A-Idea Napkin No. 2

My name is Samantha McKibbin and I am a Public Relations major at the University of Florida. I think that I have learned my leadership skills through my experience with people. Obviously it is necessary to be an overall good leader from just having specific skills, but I think that it is just as important to be able to analyze a situation and be able to figure out how to lead people on a one on one basis.

I  I am offering change to Library West and it's students an opportunity to better function and be more efficient. We do not need old technology in our updated libraries. Everyone that I know owns a laptop. Every student takes their laptop to the Library but then can never find a place to sit. I am creating more room in a crowded space for students to succeed academically.

3     My offer is to the University of Florida to create a better study environment and increase professor ratings.
4.     The University of Florida cares because we are already a top 8 University. The administration is working to improve the rating of our University and by increasing studying proficiency, this is increasing rating.
5.   I believe what has set me apart in my network is my people skills. I work very hard to evaluate situations and understand their abilities to handle situations.
I think that it all goes together. My people skills and being to understand things has set me apart with this opportunity. I took a very simple idea and made it a large opportunity.
Obviously this is not something I can accomplish on my own. I need the assistance of administrators and supportive students to accomplish this goal.

18A – Create a Customer Avatar

What kind of hobbies does your customer have?
My customer is the average college student.
What kind of car do they tend to drive? (What color is it?)
Most of them do not have cars but if they do it is probably a car that their parents purchased for them to get around.
What TV shows do they watch?
They watch whatever is popular on Netflix. Maybe Game of Thrones. Very popular tv shows.
Do they have children?
They are in college so most of them do not have children but it is possible.
 Are any of them adopted?
Unknown. Very unlikely.
What are their favorite books, and who are their favorite politicians?
They probably do not read often (except what they are supposed to read for class). They either are on the bandwagon of who their parents voted for or they are voting for who ever is in favor of poor college students.
 How old are they?
They are between 18-24 years old.
 How old do they feel?
They feel very young but at the same time like they are in the adult world. They are conflicted.
What do you have in common with the customer avatar?
I am very much like my customer avatar. I am a college student just trying to get by. I have a car that my parents purchased for me. I am 21 years old. I watch popular television shows. I do not read very often.
If you have anything in common with the avatar, do you think that is a coincidence? Why?
I do not think that this is a coincidence. I think that I created an opportunity that I found among my own life. I believe that most people who create these products and ideas, create them because they see flaws in things on a personal level.

16A –What’s Your Secret Sauce?

1) I definitely would have to say that I have very good people skills. I understand how to read situations very well. I think I am personable and very convincing especially the longer you know me. I am charismatic. I have a strong business sense. I know how to make everybody that I interact with feel special.

2) 1Sydney (best friend)
How would you describe me?
Very stubborn but kind hearted.
What is your favorite thing about me?
That you're always down to do things to make other people's day.
What is your least favorite thing about me?
You're beyond stubborn.
Sydney knows me better than everyone. She always says that I am such a people person. She also agrees that I am very convincing because I convince her to do new things on a day to day basis.

2Luke (other best friend)
How would you describe me?
Stubborn.
What is your favorite thing about me?
That you're always there. That's important.
What is your least favorite thing about me?
You don't listen to me when I try to explain things.
This is definitely one of my closest friends. He knows exactly how I am but calls me out for always trying to negotiate everything.

3Jarett (Boyfriend)
How would you describe me?
Fun, energetic, and a lot.
What is your favorite thing about me?
You care so much about people.
What is your least favorite thing about me?
You never sit still.

I am always  beyond persistent that I need to be doing something at every moment. New ideas pop into my head and my creativity never stops.

4Kathy (Mother)
How would you describe me?
VERY stubborn.
What is your favorite thing about me?
Your honesty.
What is your least favorite thing about me?
You don't listen.

I have always been honest with every person I know. There is no point in lying to someone. It will only hurt them in the end.

5David (Father)
How would you describe me?
The next congresswoman.
What is your favorite thing about me?
You're dedicated
What is your least favorite thing about me?
You're hardheaded.

Like I said before, everyone knows that I do not listen often. This is a common part of my description.

I see my self the exact same way that others see me. There are obviously flaws that other people notice more about me from the outside but I think we are all looking through the same window on that. I absolutely agree with the interviews. Well I would definitely add stubborn to my list. Just because I am stubborn doesn't mean it has to be a negative connotation. Sometimes stubborn is a good thing.

15 A Figuring out buyer behavior No. 2

1)  From those that I interviewed, I have discovered that price does matter the most for my opportunity. For the most part, price is what is holding me back the most. Style is another important factor in this opportunity. The way that the University comes off as removing computer and expecting it's students to purchase their own computers. But, the fact of the matter is that most of them have personal computers as it is.
2) This is not exactly a purchase but an act that needs to be funded. If we dispose of all of the unused technology in the libraries on campus, then there will be more room for students to study on campus. There is no product to sell but rather an idea.
3) What matters most to my customers is 1) Wasting the computers that are already on campus and 2) Is it fair or not to expect students at a public university to supply their own computers.
4) Overall, my interviewees believe that it is a good concept but it could use some work. I see both sides of that argument because it is a simple yet very complicated idea. There are many people that when doing this, you have to be aware of their wants and needs.

5) After what I have learned in my interviews, I have come to the conclusion that this is very much possible to do but there are some kinks in my plan. Some people use the computers that are supplied to us on campus very often. Some people believe that it is not ethical to expect students at a public university to have their own computers. And some people see that in today's day and age, students have working mobile computers anyway. It is a toss up.

14A – Halfway Reflection

For this course I probably had to focus the most on figuring out how to manage my time. Although this class is not that time consuming, if you miss an assignment because you do not realize you have to do it, you can greatly be penalized. Along with that, I also have learned how to be more patient with things. I used to give up on an assignment if I immediately did not understand what it was asking. Now, I have learned to take it slow and walk through each step of the assignment.

There was a point in my college career where I did not want to attend the University of Florida. Not because of the actual school, but I felt as if Gainesville was not for me. I hated living here and was very uncomfortable every moment that I was here. I eventually realized though, that although my entire life was not ideal, did not mean that it was not great. I started to appreciate the little things in life and ended up very happy with my overall situation. I feel like I definitely am developing a tenacious attitude. These past two months have helped me a lot with this. I think what contributed to this the most was like I said above, having the ability to walk myself through assignments and not get frustrated.
3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset' ?
1) Always be patient
2) Learn your strengths and weaknesses
3) Life is great even when it does not seem it.

12A Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

1) Segment
Public Universities that have 30,000+ students. The higher the population of the school, the higher the need for study room is.

2) Interview
I interviewed professors, who mostly believed that student study areas were sufficient. I think it is super interesting that the people who don't have to do assignments, don't see a problem with the amount of space provided to our students.

3) Research findings
I have found that a majority of those do not believe my opportunity is necessary. Although, they may be correct that we have a lot of areas to study already in Gainesville, there is a reason that certain libraries are more populated than others. This is based off of the vibe of the library, and overall location.

4) Conclusion
The opportunity was definitely deemed possible. It is more of the hassle of the actual disposal of the old desktops and technology, that those in which I decided to interview did not agree with me as much. It is still possible, and I was not discouraged to completely dispose of my idea.

11A - Idea Napkin No. 1

In addition to these five elements, please spend a paragraph evaluating whether you believe these elements fit together or whether there are aspects of your business concept that are weaker / out-of-joint with the others.

1) My name is Samantha McKibbin. I am a junior at the University of Florida. I am majoring in Public Relations. I am very good at communication. I have fluent people skills. I aspire to have a PR position at a corporation that involves nutrition marketing. I see removing the old, large technology from UF libraries and libraries across the nation to play a roll in my life by decreasing the clutter in public places to increase efficiency.

2) I am offering the removal of old, and unused technology from libraries except for one single floor to increase seating possibilities in libraries and increase productivity. All customers struggle to find seating in populated libraries.

3) I am currently offering the removal of unused technology to the students of the University of Florida who consistently choose to study at Library West and other overly populated libraries but hope to expand this to other libraries across the school, region, and country.

4) By removing these unused devices from the library, this will decrease clutter in the library, increase productivity of the students, increase seating options, and better the vibe of the library making students more inclined to study there.

5) Currently, there is no competition for this issue. No one is trying to solve this problem.

I think my background is definitely the most out of touch aspect of the five listed above. Although there are minor things that could make it more relatable to my major and experience, besides people and health, there is no correlation to removing these devices from libraries. I just feel that every type of student will definitely become more efficient if there is more seating for those who already have a computer available to them.

9A Testing the Hypothesis Part 2

The first person I interviewed was a friend of mine, named Sam (a senior  pre-medical student at UF. Sam never goes to Library West because he thinks the amount of people there is too distracting. He only goes to the Medical Library because he feels that everyone who goes there has the same intentions as he does.

The second person that I interviewed was one of my best friends named Anthony, a junior at UF. Although he previously used Library West, he has found the Law Library which is closer to where he lives on fraternity row. He has found that there is a lot more seating at the Law Library and it is much quieter.

The third person that I interviewed was a random girl who I saw studying outside of the library in the Plaza of the Americas. Her name is Katie and she is a sophomore at UF. She said that she prefers studying outside than in a stuffy library anyway so she just does not even bother looking for seating inside.

The fourth person that I interviewed was my friend Stacey, a sophomore at UF, who prefers to study in her bedroom from the comfort of her bed rather than in a crowded library. She doesn’t like seeing people she knows and prefers to avoid judgement.

The fifth, and last person that I interviewed was my friend Jason. Jason is a freshman at UF. Jason doesn’t like to study. He believes that studying is not necessary. He thinks that if you go to class and pay attention, that you do not need to study and reteach yourself. Jarett does not go to the library.

Who- These students are similar to those that are usually effected by the issue of computer overcrowding. The reason that they are not effected personally though, are because they either go to less populated libraries (like the Law Library) or do not go to libraries.

What- After my five interviews listed above, I have come to the conclusion, that maybe if the solution that I have selected was implemented, then more students would find themselves going to Library West.

Why- All of the people that I selected could in fact go to Library West and are all UF students. The reason that they do not for the most part, is they choose other places to study or just do not choose to study. The entire UF population COULD be effected and all fall into the same boundary but those that I interviewed do not because of other variables.

Inside the Boundary-
Who: Students who go to Library West.
What is the need: More seating with less computer space.
Why: There are too many bulky computers that are taking up room for students to sit and study.

Outside the Boundary-
Who: Students that don’t go to Library West (or study).
What is not the need: To find a seat in Library West.
Alternative: Students who do not go to the library or crowded libraries will not be effective by the removal of computers.

8A-Solving the Problem

1)    The problem that I am looking to solve is that there are no available seats at the University of Florida libraries. I interviewed five different students who attend UF and they all agreed that we could use more seating or libraries in our systems.

2)    I believe there is a solution to this issue. We either need to find the funding for another library or remove all of the bulky monitors from the inside of our current libraries. As we strive to become more of an academic university, we need to have the materials to make it possible. Obviously the extra library would be more efficient, but removing old and bulky computers that a majority of students do not even use anymore (because laptops have become more common).

7A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 1

1. The library is always insanely packed and there are never available open seats.

2.  Who: Students at The University of Florida

3. What: There are never available seats at the library.

4. Why: There are more unused computer monitors than seats, and during populated study times, this is not enough..

Testing who: This issue effects most University of Florida students.

Testing what: I am testing to see if other University of Florida students feel the same as I do about seats at the library.

Testing why: I am testing to see WHY other students think this is a problem (why it happens).

1. Sydney R. Sophomore at The University of Florida

Q: How many times a week do you go to the Library? Which ones?
A: Twice. I usually go to Library West.

Q: Do you ever find trouble finding a place to sit?
A: Literally always.

Q: Why do you think you think the library is so populated?
A: Because there is a Starbucks and its quiet.

Q: Do you think there is any type of solution to the overcrowding of libraries?
A: I guess they could build more.

Q: Do you think adding seats would make you study more?
A: Yeah. Going to the library would not be such a hassle.

2. Jarett A. Junior at The University of Florida

4) After conducting the interviews I found that not everyone was keen to the idea of more seating. This was an issue of being distracted while trying to study and I don’t think they took into account the time they wasted looking for a seat. Another factor that influencing the seating issue was which library the student goes to. Those who went to West and Newell found more problems than those who did not. I think that this opportunity is still promising and there are multiple solutions to this issue that would overall benefit UF students.
